Our mission is to provide comprehensive and rigorous training in dental assisting, equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism necessary to excel in the dental field. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic excellence, ethical practice, and a commitment to lifelong learning. During this 10-week program, through hands-on experience, state-of-the-art facilities, and experienced faculty, we aim to prepare our graduates to be competent, compassionate, and confident dental assistants who contribute positively to the healthcare community and improve patient care.
Carrie Garrison is a Nationally Board-Certified Dental assistant with over 26 years of experience in the dental field. Carrie worked as a Dental Surgical assistant for an Oral Maxillofacial surgeon's office for 21 years making patient care her priority by assisting with dental implants, biopsies, and wisdom teeth removal, etc. in the office setting. She also assisted oral surgeons at Holmes Regional Medical Center with orthognathic surgery, trauma patients, and cancer patients.
Carrie is currently a teacher at Viera High School and has been teaching there for the last 5 years. The program that she oversees is a 3-year program, first-year Anatomy and Physiology, second-year Health Science Foundations, and third-year Dental Aide. Students at Viera have the opportunity to get certified in CPR, BLS, First Aid, and safety as Carrie is also an instructor for the American Heart Association.
Carrie believes in a hands-on approach to teaching, ensuring that students gain practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are empowered to succeed.
